#ThreeThingsThursday: Flywheel Fun, Big Anniversary & Support System

Three Things Thursday is one of my favorite days of the week!

Why?

Alliteration. Period.

Nah!! That is just a majority of the reason. ;)

I really like the ability to share three random thoughts under one blog post all because of a nice hashtag. :)

Thank you internet!

Let's get right to it!

1) Flywheel Fun

This week was all about getting back into the saddle at Flywheel. In the past 7 days I made it to 4 Flywheel classes and really pushed myself to give it everything I had every ride.

On Saturday I had an awesome little morning to myself with a rare weekend class followed by Sweetgreen lunch.

I've been enjoying Flywheel so much and it seriously has been helping my mental state, as well as my physical state that I treated myself to the 20-class pack. While it was quite pricey, I knew I was worth it and I would happily skip dinner out or buying lunch to make it work around our budget!

Note the 268 class on 5/10 is not mine, but was my colleague's who was my Guest.

I love being able to see my stats from prior classes and how I have flourished when I go consistently.

It is wicked true when people say: find an activity that you enjoy and you will stick with it!

#Preach

Plus each time I ride I am accruing power points... I like incentives!!

Can't wait to see how much stronger I get and how it will positively impact my running/triathlon progress.

Who wants to join me for a class sometime?

Note: This is not a sponsored post by Flywheel. I am just loving it that much that I need to share it with everyone!!!

2) Big Anniversary Tomorrow

FOLKS! I cannot believe what tomorrow is!!!

Can you guess? Have I given it away?

Well tomorrow - May 26 - is the 6th anniversary of my little slice of the internet!!!!!!!

I cannot believe I have been blogging at Weight Off My Shoulders for 6 freakin' years!

Where oh where has the time gone?

On May 26, 2011, I nervously penned the first-ever blog post on Weight Off My Shoulders. I had no idea what blogging entailed or what role blogging would play in my life. I just knew at that time I needed help... and this was my next step!

I'm speechless. You can all wipe that shocked look off your face. ;)

I'm having a hard time putting into words how much Weight Off My Shoulders has impacted my life and the amazing opportunities I've had because of this little slice of the internet.

While some blog readers (still amazing you are out there :)), write to me to say I motivate them - it is really YOU that inspire and drive me to be a better person!

I will share more tomorrow in a blog post, but I needed to just share again how lucky I am for this blog and all of you that it has brought into my life!!

3) Support System

While I was re-reading my Boston Marathon recap, the common saying of "running is such an individualized sport." But that is far from the truth in my story.

I might have been the person running that race, but every step of the way:

  • each of you were virtually alongside me
  • my wife was answering my text messages trying to keep me calm and in the moment
  • social media supporters were responding to my tweets about really struggling and encouragement was flooding in
  • friends and family on the course were there with smiles, water, meds, hugs and even champagne (thanks Page)

This reminded me that at no point in that run was I alone. I could feel the love from all over the world.

There are times when my depression and anxiety make me feel like I am 100% alone in this world. That if I left this world no one would even notice.

But it is experiences like that of the Boston Marathon or when I was struggling a few weeks ago, how far from the truth that is.

I am loved. I would be missed. I am worth being here.

So if you are struggling with feeling supported, please know I am always here for you! You are NOT alone. I will be your support system... just reach out!

Phew!

Holy Randomness Batman. :P

Well I better get to bed now so I am fully rested for the big blog-iversary!

Happy Friday Eve Friends! Any good plans this weekend?
