What would you say there is a whole apparel line built on building ALL women up?
I mean these folks are the ultimate cheerleaders for women of ALL sizes.
Meet From Thick to Thin Apparel!
From Thick to Thin is an athletic apparel + lifestyle company designed to fit The Everyday Woman. Driven by a passion for fitness and the belief that every body – no matter how tall or short, fast or slow, thick or thin – deserves comfortable and functional athletic apparel that helps them feel as good as they look, From Thick to Thin is dedicated to changing public perception and portrayal of the concept of “the female athlete” from exclusivity to inclusivity.
Thick to Thin offers sizes from XS-5XL and feature tanks, tees, pants and accessories. While based in the US, the group will ship internationally for a $20 fee.
From Thick to Thin is a community-driven company. That means we’re about more than just the clothes. We’re about YOU. And because the concept of cultivating a fun and supportive community is at the heart of our brand, our athletic apparel and accessories feature messages that motivate and inspire the athletes wearing our gear and those around them.
I've found a great community online by using their hashtags: #CanDoIt and #WeAreAllAthletes!
I had the pleasure of "meeting" founder Andrea through the fantastic world wide web. Yes people still call it that. Okay maybe not cool people, but let's support my weirdness. Alright? ;)
From Thick To Thin started out as a blog in 2011 and then...
the designer in my brain decided I wanted to do something fun like sell a product… but a product I could fit into…. when I was 250lbs and starting out, I couldn’t even fit into the workout tops from the local sporting good stores.. so shit, why not make my own… something that would be fun and comfy to WOD in… something that didn’t cling to me and show my awesome rolls….well, that’s when Thick to Thin really took off and became what it is today!
Reading her story spoke to me. Did she creep into my brain at some point? ;) I can remember being in the 230s and buying men's t-shirts and basketball shorts because they were the only ones that would fit comfortably. I would feel uncomfortable and on display when I slinked into the college gym.
So when Andrea gave me the opportunity to test of a From Thick To Thin tank I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I am wicked happy to be share the story behind From Thick to Thin and promote an outstanding small-owned business. (They could use support on their Kickstarter as well)
But which one to pick????
(Note: I did receive a complimentary tank, but all opinions are my own. Ain't nobody got time for lyin!)
After scouring the site, I opted for the Be You Tiful tank (value $24). I'm always nervous ordering clothing online, but the shirt was true to size. I ordered a large and it was perfect.
Holy comfort Batman!
I chose the "flowy tank" so it wasn't clingy and had breathability while sweating my butt off on a run in Boston in August. ;) The tank was flowy, but not too flowy. You know what I mean? I didn't feel like I was hiding under a huge circus tent. Instead it hug in the right places and gave me some space in the mid-section area (where I am self conscious).
I can't tell you how many people read my shirt while out walking in Boston and smiled! I mean how can you not smile seeing such a positive and powerful message coming your way.
I DARE you to look at these women rocking their From Thick To Thin tanks and not smile. Go ahead - I dare ya!
You can't right? :)
While I was writing this post I was already thinking about my first official purchase and I found it!
